The East Leake Medical Group (ELM Group) is proud to announce the creation of the East Leake Medical group Patients Partnership(ELMPP).
The partnership is designed to allow patients of the ELM Group to have direct access to the planning and policy making process of ELM Group.
The partnership will be patient organised and chaired but with active support and input from ELM Group. For the initial six months the chairman will be Andy Warren, who has has been one of the instigators for the Establishment of lay/patient input groups both GP practice and Primary Care Trust (PCT) level.
As a patient led organisation ELMPP will invite Practitioners, clinicians, practice staff, and other health service providers(Opticians, Pharmacists, Dentists etc.) to attend meetings as required.
The ELMPP activities will range from the organisation of the mandatory annual "Improving Practice Questionnaire" (IPQ) that generates a plan of action to improve the patient experience, through to surveys of ELM Group patients on specific experiences, changes to services and any other ideas for improvement at ELM Group.
ELMPP will NOT be a channel for individual complaints, complaints should be made to the practice manager or if required the PCT based PALS service can be contacted if required.
ELMPP will also act as the public face for both the current Rushcliffe PCT, with its link to the Rushcliffe Health Network, and the new Nottinghamshire County PCT, together with the new social enterprise organisation (Principia, Partners in Health) that is currently in development, allowing the public and patients to have direct input to the planning for new services and changes to the current provision of health and social services in the local area.
These aims of active public/patient inclusion in health and social care are fully in line with current government and Department of Health policy and thinking. See www.dh.gov.uk for details of the various policy statements.
If you have any questions or queries about ELMPP, in the first instance please contact Andy Warren via a note to the Health Centre or use the e-mail address elmpp@eastleake.net.
